Love

I've written before about how lucky we are to have so many people who love and care about Avery, Noel, Shelby and I.  We never have a shortage of love.  It has been apparent again recently.  This photo is of a sweater that Avery has enjoyed wearing recently.  It was made by his Great-Grandma Willemsen.  It's so soft and warm and I love that it was handmade, just for him.  We don't see her very often since she lives in Brampton and isn't very mobile so it is nice to have this reminder of her.  And the saw that Avery is chewing on was a gift from his Grammy (Noel's Mom).
This next photo is of Avery in an outfit that was a gift from friends of my parents.  Actually, the lady was my Dad's secretary for years.  I guess she heard many stories about my brother and I as we were growing up!  Her and her husband came to visit my parents last weekend and I went over with Avery so they could meet him.  They had brought tiny cupcakes with blue star-sprinkles in his honour, and a card and this outfit!  It was very sweet of them.
Well, it was either this photo, or the one with the drool running down his shirt!
Then, this weekend, Noel's parents came to visit from London, Ontario.  They try to come up every 4 weeks, when they both have 4 days off in a row (they are both nurses).  Avery really enjoyed having them here and so did Noel, Shelby and I.  It was nice and relaxing.  Noel's Dad, Scott, brought two puppets (from when Noel and his sister were younger) and was entertaining Avery with them. Who remembers Lambchop?!  : )

"Grammy, what's going on?"

One of the cutest parts about all this was that Shelby wasn't sure how she felt about the puppets, so she kept biting at them and then finally she climbed up on the couch and positioned herself between Avery and the puppets, just to be safe!

Speaking of Shelby, here she is, right in the middle of everything, soaking up the love.
Yep, she's on the couch, using Scott's back as a pillow!

And here is another sweater handmade, with love, especially for Avery!  Noel's Mom finished knitting this while she was here.  She thought it would be too big but it turns out it fits him right now!  I love the colour.  Avery enjoyed wearing it.
And here is Avery with his Grammy and Grampy.  He will really miss them tomorrow when they aren't around to play with him.
And I can't resist adding photos of Avery trying Greek Yogurt, mixed with bananas, for the first time.  He thought it was so yummy!  He couldn't grab the spoons from me fast enough!  I think it was also the messiest thing he's had to eat yet!

And then, once Noel's parents had left for home, Avery and Shelby and I headed over to my parents' house for an early dinner.  My Dad hadn't seen him in a few days and my Mom goes into withdrawal if it's been longer than 24 hours!  Avery had a great time playing with a new toy my Mom bought him and he  had his first taste of cabbage rolls.  It's difficult to tell if he liked them because he didn't get very much in his mouth.  Oh well.  It's good practice.
Now he is all tucked into his bed, sleeping soundly.  I like to think that he can feel all the love and that it contributes to him being such a happy boy.  : )
