Christmas #1

This year we had several Christmas celebrations.  This post is about our get-togethers on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  We spent the time with my grandmother and my parents, which was really nice since for the last few years my parents have been in Texas for the winter.  Of course, it was also extra nice this year too because we had Avery!

Christmas Eve - Carol singing.  We are not very good singers!  Noel refused to participate, but he did take pictures.  He also took a video, but I won't post it because, as I mentioned, we aren't very good!  But carol singing is one of my favourite memories from when I was younger so I'd like to continue doing it for Avery.

Rosie - under the tree.  I don't know why, but one of my Mom's little dogs liked to curl up under the tree.  I guess it is cosy under there!

Shelby is our first baby!

We spent Christmas morning ourselves, relaxing and opening presents.  It actually took a long time to open present with Avery because he was so interested in the wrapping paper, tissue paper, and boxes!  We still have two presents for him under the tree that we haven't gotten around to giving him yet!

Hanging out with Dad Christmas morning.  "Hey Dad, can I have some of your Hot Crossed Bun?"

Opening his first present!

Eating the paper is the most exciting part.

"Hey Dad, why did you put this box on my head?"

Daddy and Avery, with matching Batman books!

Two stockings!  Both for me!

Awwwwww, Shelby.
Avery is his Christmas/Santa outfit, with his new blocks.  He likes the yellow one because if you press the ducky it makes a quaking noise!

Later in the afternoon, Grandma, Grandpa (my parents) and "GG" (Great Grandma) came over to open more presents and have dinner with us.  Noel cooks the whole dinner all by himself. All from scratch too.  It's one of my favourite days of the year because he doesn't even like me go in the kitchen!  And, it's sooooo delicious!  Thanks Noel!
Christmas Dinner

Avery liked the turkey and the carrots, honest!
Avery really enjoyed sitting at the table with us and being part of everything.

Avery woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep without me, so I gave up and brought him back upstairs (we weren't on a sleep program yet).  Here he is, sitting in his sleep sack.

We had a great time celebrating our first Christmas with Avery.  He didn't really understand about all the presents so he wasn't too excited, but he does enjoy playing with his new toys.  He really like watching the cars spin around the track (in the photo above).

We got to do Christmas all over again with Noel's family, over New Years.  But that's another post!
