1) Bath time fun! Avery has been sliding down in the bath for a while now, but he's always kept his head above water. I'm not sure why he likes to slide down, but the does. Then, a few days ago, he slid right down and with his ears under water. He was fascinated by the way the world sounds when your ears are covered! This is now his new favourite thing to do! It freaks me out a bit because when he turns his head side to side he gets water in his mouth, but it makes him so happy that I keep letting him do it. The other problem is that I am worried he will get water trapped in his ears because he has a narrow ear canal on one side. So far he's okay though, and it's so cute to see! I don't have a photo of this because I never remember the camera until Avery is in the bath and, obviously, I can't leave him in there alone while I go to get it.
2) Jumping! Last weekend I went to the Mom-to-Mom sale here and I bought a Jolly Jumper for $10. It was the best $10 I've spent on Avery so far! He loves it! We took some videos of him the first time he was using it. He is super-cute: laughing while he jumps and turns. Here are the videos:
3) Swinging! My Mom and I took Avery to the park near our house and put him on the baby swings. At first he wasn't sure about it, but then he decided it was almost as much fun as the Jolly Jumper! He smiles and laughs. Now, if we could only get Shelby to stop trying to stand under him while he swings...
So there are Avery's latest fun new developments. I am really enjoying him so much now that he can do more. His head control has really improved and it allows him to be in these upright positions. He is such a cutie!
