Summer Fun, Part Two!

We've been having wonderful weather this summer and it's been great for getting out and having fun!

We had a good morning at Wasaga Beach.  Avery's favourite part is playing in the sand.  I love the water, and would like to spend more time swimming, but he's happy to dig and play.  We decided that we would build a big volcano, since that's a current interest of his.  We got it pretty big - past his waist, but I couldn't make it bigger than him.  Then Avery had great fun wrecking it before we left.
Excited to be there, running around the beach

Avery started swimming lessons again and they are a big success!  It turns out that he's the only one in his class, so he's getting private lessons.  It's his first time taking lessons without me going in the pool with him (parent and tot) and he was insisting that he wasn't going to go in the pool, but he did and had a great time with his instructor.  I really hope that he keeps enjoying it and learns how to swim soon because I love to swim!
Only one, plus his teacher, in the entire pool for the second half of the lesson

Because the weather was so nice, we ended up at the shale beach at Sunset Point soon after that.  We had gone for a walk the night before and Avery, Shelby and I waded in and it was so beautiful and warm, so I promised Avery that we could go back soon for a proper swim.

Can't get him to smile

Avery had a visit to the dentist.  He'd never had a cleaning or polishing before because he was a bit anxious about it but this time he was awesome!  His teeth got scaled and polished and he doesn't have any cavities.  Yay!

I've been keeping busy for the two days a week that Avery goes to daycare.  I'm learning to do the podcasts of the message at Church, and I started volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity build.  Behind me are the tools that I organized.

It actually has rained, but usually only on the days when I have outdoor play date plans with my friend Jess.  So, instead of going to the beach on this day, we went to the indoor playground in Barrie.  It was so busy that it was at capacity.  Avery was a bit overwhelmed with all the children running around, especially the bigger ones who weren't looking out for the littler ones.   But he found a few things he liked and I went down the biggest slide with him several times.  He likes to go down fast slides.

This is a sign about the Apollo 11 rocket that went to the moon.  Avery was fascinated by it.

On Sunday Mom and I decided we should take a picnic dinner down to Sunset Point.  It wasn't very windy at our house but it turns out it was super windy at the park!  We still had a good time though.  Mom had brought a football to give Avery so we had fun playing with that.

We planned another beach date and this time it was a beautiful day!  We went to Northwinds beach and it was perfect.  I don't think I'll make the drive to Wasaga as often anymore.  The water gets deeper, sooner, but that's actually nice because you don't have to go as far out.  Although, it was a bit chilly!

Another awkward selfie. It's usually the only way I can get photos of both of us.

Next up is our road trip to Windsor and stop on the way back to ride the Thomas Train.  Stay tuned!
