11 months!

Avery is 11 months old today!  I can't believe that in just a month he will be 1 whole year old!  A friend came by the school the other day with her 1 month old baby, and it was then that it hit me just how big Avery has grown over the past year! That little baby was so quiet and sleepy and tiny!  Avery is so vocal and squirmy and heavy!  But he's lots of fun now too.
Here are some of the things Avery is doing right now:

•  crawling
• trying to pull himself up on everything
• waves
• turns light switches off
• uses gestures and sounds to indicate what he wants (and what he doesn't want!)
• puts objects into a container and takes them out
• identifies himself and others in a mirror
• pulls off hats and socks if he doesn't want them on
• can point to someone/something's "eyes" when asked
• drink from a sippy cup by himself
• feed himself (by hand) and attempt to use utensils
• pull off his bib! 
• loves to "read" his books independently, and be read to as well
• sits up when put into his crib. Turns the mobile on by himself!
• Cries when we use the vacuum.  After we turn it off, he watches it from across the room, points to it, and says "oooohhh!" to show us that he's still keeping an eye on it!
• Plays with a ball by rolling it back and forth to someone
• He just got his top teeth (he has four in total now)
